News 19 March 2019 The Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, Shauna Dixon, gives us a cheque toward the cost of refurbishing our existing side hall to create our new food co-operative. 8 March 2019 Our youth club opens under new management. We open earlier than previously, at 5:30 pm. The youth club is run by staff from the Mahdlo centre. 4 February 2019 Today we re-start our Community Café in the Main Hall of our Community Centre. 17 November 2018 Today we completed the creation of our new meeting room which will accommodate crèche, training, counselling, ESOL, and other small-to-medium groups. 19 September 2018 Today we start the next pilot of our new food co-operative. We are inviting new members. The next phase will start early in 2019. 14 September 2018 The new toilet block is complete. 25 August 2018 The flooring is complete, and all the electrical work is done. 20 August 2018 We’re closing the Community Cafe for a month to accommodate the building of our new food store. 20 July 2018 The cubicles are taking shape. The entrance between the Church and toilet block is complete. 29 June 2018 Today we started converting the area behind the stage to become a new toilet block. 22 March 2018 Our Breakfast Club appears on the BBC’s North West at Night and the BBC website. 14 February 2018 Revd Dr Paul Monk, receives £10,000 from Action Together who awarded us the grant to create a new training and meeting room. 4 December 2017 We received an award from the Diocese of Manchester in its new ‘Churches for a Different World’ scheme. Funding updates 29 January 2019 The Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund has awarded us £600 toward the cost of our food co-operative. 16 January 2019 The Wakeham Trust awarded us £1000 toward the cost of our food co-operative. 11 December 2018 The Diocese of Manchester awarded us £5,000 toward the cost of our new training and meeting room. 15 October 2018 Carl Roberts from Waterhead organised a sponsored walk in aid of our Youth Breakfast. It raised a total of £1,700. 19 July 2018 The Rank Foundation awarded us £1,400 toward the cost of our food co-operative. 7 July 2018 The Allchurches Trust awarded us £1,500 toward the cost of our food co-operative. 10 June 2018 The Council for Social Action awarded us £4,000 toward the cost of salaries. 26 May 2018 The Trusthouse Charitable Foundation awarded us £9,582 toward the cost of installing new toilets. 13 March 2018 FCHO awarded us £5,000 toward the cost of setting up Oldham’s first food co-operative. 14 February 2018 Action Together awarded us £10,000 to create a new training and meeting room. 24 January 2018 Oldham Council awarded us £3,000 toward the cost of setting up Oldham’s first food pantry. 12 December 2017 The Viridor Environmental Company awarded us £34,632 to create a new toilet suite in the Church. 15 November 2017 The co-operative Community Fund awarded us £4,394 toward the cost of running our youth project. 26 July 2017 The Kerching scheme awarded us £2,300 toward the cost of running our youth project.
